Does Griffin Colapinto Pull His Local Card On Filipe At Lowers?

Filipe Toledo is used to squaring up against Griffin Colapinto.

Despite being one of Brazil’s most beloved representatives on tour, for the past few years, Filipe has called San Clemente, CA home. Living just a stone’s throw away from Griffin means the two don’t just compete in WSL competition, but actually contend for waves regularly at places like T-Street and Trestles. I don’t know about you, but if I pulled up in the lot and saw these two trading set waves, I’d turn around quickly with my tail between my legs, hiding tears of inadequacy behind a pair of polarized Oakley frames.

With the hope of fueling their robust competitive spirits, we paired Griffin and Filipe against one another for Heat 3 of Stab Squared. Meanwhile, Stab Premium Member Selena Moberly rounded out the field with her Slater-esque mind games. The will to win our charitable $5,000 grand prize was palpable from start to finish.
