Female Beachgoers Are The True Harbinger Of Hawaii’s Swell Season

Koa Rothman is the type of guy who can probably look out his bedroom window, spot a very particular frond of a very particular palm and tell you, without a second of contemplation, what the waves will be like on that day.

It’s just a Hawaiian thing.

However there’s one harbinger of North Shore surf that even the haole-est among us know and we know it well: the presence of attractive females on the beach means that the surf is fucking up.

Something about the technicolor sun, the Pacific’s raw force, and the testosterone-filled men who embrace it have lured comely women to the North Shore for decades.

It’s worth mentioning, these women are typically but not always separate from those who also attack the North Shore’s waves with gusto.

Any way you slice it, women have officially made landfall on the Sunset strip and wouldn’t you know it, the waves are there too.

Enjoy this pineapple slice from Koa and friends.
