Welcome back to Filmlyfe, a series of journeys in which we swirl through time and space, and bathe in the blissful technicolor aesthetics that only an auteur can sling. The premise we’re rolling with? Men of the lens answer questions with visuals instead of words. It’s all motion. It’s a view into their souls.
Mikey Mallalieu has been filming full time for three years now. And like most, that occurred once he realised the nine-to-five daily grind simply wasn’t satisfying him – so he quit his job to create a career for himself. “It had always been a dream to film for a living and I am stoked I am doing what I am doing,” he says. You’ve seen Mikey’s handy work on numerous productions like Red Bull’s 21Days, Theatre of Sport (Bali) and The Ripple Effect. “Filming has taken me places I could only dream of and I want to do this until I can’t see anymore.”
